Apparently Porsche is planning to initiate work at new entry-level Porsche. As Matthias Mueller says this project is under consideration now. The project was called “550”. The focus-group was held to find out if A-segment needs a new roadster. Mueller hesitates if now is the right time for this car.
There is no problem in technical recourses, but the company can suffer from the roadster’s market entry. And even if the project is approved, realization will take 3 mere years to complete. Bernhard Maier says the company doesn’t hasten, because they are sure that this model is one of the most interesting in the history. Porsche has a hope that the up-graded Boxster will be something like a crossover for the new entry-level sport car. Bernhard Maier mentions that both models should be profitable and thereby a great volume of sales is necessary.
